Responsibilities:

• Using data to figure out market and business trends to aid in enhancing organizational efficiencies


• Develop, prepare and maintain various data reporting tools (i.e. databases, report structures) pertaining to different organizational activities


• Perform predictive analysis to determine probable outcomes or likelihood of events utilizing information from a known data set


• Perform closed-loop analysis to provide data that will be used to improve the quality and performance of products and processes, both in the day-to-day operations and long-term business strategies


• Communicate any significant findings to management or cross-functional business partners as needed


• Creation of standard re-occurring (i.e. weekly, daily) reports for management


• Perform ad hoc report requests in an effective and efficient manner


• Works closely with departmental heads to understand the report purpose in order to ensure that the report is appropriate


• Provide training and assistance to peers to help them better understand the various reports and databases


• Build and teach the company about machine and deep learning, participate actively into the journey setup, from the discovery phase until the corporate data centric transformation


• Build the core foundations for Big Data processing (Distributed storage layer, pipeline, machine learning capabilities)


• Extend the company’s data with third party sources of information when needed


• Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis


• Design solutions with key concepts: security and privacy by design


• Create automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of the performance


• Recruit, train and excite the next generation of Data engineers across the company


• Build solutions with key concepts: security and privacy by design

Requirements:

• Master or Bachelor Degree in Applied Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer science or other quantitative field. PhD or MS Nice to Have


• Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related course


• 3 years relevant experience in business reporting using Business Intelligence Tools and Decision Support Systems


• Demonstrated experience in analysis, design, development and deployment using Microsoft technologies


• Knowledge of data integration and data integrity issues and solutions.Excellent interpersonal relations


• Extensive knowledge and understanding of dimensional data warehouse design and implementation


• A sound understanding and experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products especially Excel VBA


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Strong interpersonal team working abilities


• Proven ability to manage multiple activities and prioritise workload.


• Highly effective organizational skills

• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills


• Expert in distributed computing principles. Management of Hadoop cluster, with all included services.


• Experience with building stream-processing systems, using solutions such as Kafka stream, Storm or Spark-Streaming


• Good knowledge of Big Data querying tools, such as Pig, Hive, and Impala


• Experience with Spark


• Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources


• Experience with NoSQL databases, such as HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, Couchbase.


• Knowledge of various ETL techniques and frameworks, such as Flume


• Experience with various messaging systems, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ


• Experience with Big Data ML toolkits, such as Mahout, SparkML, or H2O


• Good understanding of Lambda Architecture, along with its advantages and drawbacks


• Nice to Have: Experience with MapR/Hortonworks"
