Main Responsibilities
The Special Audits & Preventive Assurance Manager is responsible for using technology, data analytics and algorithms to identify and prevent fraud and financial abuse that may occur within the organization (Central entities and 14 countries of operations). Additionally, the person is responsible for leading and conducting investigations of potential abuse, preparing reports, communicating findings to senior management, human resources, legal counsel, and recommending corrective actions relating to internal control failures.
He / She shall:
- Carry out the vision and mission of Special Audits, Forensic and Preventive Assurance to prevent, detect, and investigate fraud, business wrongdoings, and financial abuse within the company
- Leverage existing tools and develop new ones to proactively identify potential frauds
- Gather, review, and analyze data in support of the mission
- Identify, and clearly define forensic issues and root causes, recommend improved internal controls and business processes, and ensure that corrective action plans are developed
- Promote a zero-tolerance control environment where fraud or noncompliance is unacceptable
- Manage whistleblower channels and conduct reviews to address allegations of fraud raised within the company or by third party
- Conduct internal investigations of alleged or suspected violations of laws and corporate policies, including theft, fraud, embezzlement, conflict of interest, collusion, kickbacks, and records falsification
- Prepare clear, comprehensive special audit and investigation reports in a timely manner
- Prepare work papers to adequately document investigations performed with supporting evidence for all forensic findings
- Provide effective recommendations and solutions to identified issues; ensure business agreement, and follow-through
- Assist in Special projects as assigned
Position
- We are hiring a Special Audits & Preventive Assurance Manager
- Reporting to the Group Head of Internal Audit
- Based in our Porto office in Portugal.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- CPA/ CFE/ CFA /CIA certifications desired
- 7-8 years of total work experience, of which at least 3 years relating to the investigation of extensive, complex, detailed and confidential matters
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and experience with data analytics tools such as ACL, SQL preferred
- Previous experience in Revenue Assurance & Fraud Management function is a plus
- Capable of developing a continuous auditing module and automating fraud alerts based on data analytics
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic and changing environment that strives to exceed expectations
- Bilingual speakers preferred (French, English)
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to present forensic findings in an objective and unbiased manner
- Interact well with different people and able to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks under stressful conditions
- Strong leadership and analytical skills, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Willing to travel a minimum of 50% (international travel)
