Position Overview


As Regional Head of Jumia Services, you will lead warehousing & logistics of the e-commerce business across our highest-growing markets.  You will manage a central team as well as country teams in Ghana, Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Cameroon, Uganda and Tanzania and report directly to the EVP Marketplace and functionally to the SVP Logistics. 


Key Responsibilities




  • Manage and recruit warehousing & logistics teams in each country and foster cohesion, collaboration, and mutual learning among them




  • Enforce the global strategy of the e-commerce business by




    • Ensuring consistency of best-practice fulfillment processes and routines

    • Managing roadmap roll-outs and tech improvements in close collaboration with country teams and ensuring appropriate training

    • Lead Execution and reporting across multiple flows


      • Forward logistics: first mile (vendor drop-off, vendor pick-up, inbounding), middle mile (network moves) and last mile (customer pick-up or door delivery by own fleet or 3PL

      • Reverse logistics: customer returns, failed deliveries, return-to-vendor, return-to-inventory, quarantine

      • Warehousing: inbounding, inventory management, order processing



    • Ensure  management of KPIs on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis, including fulfillment speed, success rate of deliveries, and losses



Key Qualifications




  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain or other quantitative field; advanced Degree preferred but not required




  • Proven experience in managing large teams and projects, particularly those of operational nature




  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, rationally challenge the status quo, and proactively suggest improvements




  • Strong entrepreneurial drive and impeccable communication skills  




  • Ability to work independently and in a team




  • Experience in multinational environment




  • Fluency in English; French would be a substantial advantage
