Job Description:


As Materials & Planning Manager, you will lead HelloFresh’s planning and material management capabilities for our distribution center. You will control and streamline the flow of raw ingredients into production of finished goods, including but not limited to inventory control, production sequencing, demand planning, and forecasting capacity needs/shifts. You will also be responsible for continuous improvement initiatives in their functional areas of inventory and non-inventory management, planning processes, label/media printing, and problem solving/removing barriers for direct reports such as Associate Planning Managers and Associate Material Managers. The Materials & Planning Manager is therefore expected to demonstrate mastery of the distribution center Inventory Management and Planning best practices.  


 You will…



  • Act as the primary point of contact between procurement, customer care, and responsible for all escalation issues related to inventory, materials management, and planning.

  • Manage change initiatives related to planning, materials management, and inventory practices.

  • Maintain constant communication within the distribution center among other departments on inventory and planning matters.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory position and execution of inventory practices.

  • Perform data analysis to analyze performance and drive process improvement.

  • Allocate labor hours and manage labor plan for department including scheduling for all employees of the department, such as inventory counters and label printers.

  • Provide support and guidance to Associate Managers to eliminate barriers and encourage success. Provide coverage during off days for the Associate Planning Manager and Associate Materials Manager roles.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Materials Management:



  • Manage on-time delivery of inventory based on production schedules, current inventory, customer orders, and forecasts.

  • Act as a liaison between the distribution center and procurement to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of material for production.

  • Ensure accurate and current inventory records.

  • Conduct daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems.

  • Develop and implements inventory control procedures.

  • Coordinate and manages daily physical cycle counts amongst inventory associates. 


Planning:



  • Create daily production plan.

  • Drive strategic planning and forecasting for production.

  • Define operational goals for the distribution center on a daily and weekly basis.

  • Verify real-time accuracy of plan and data on production dashboards.

  • Perform reconciliation and adjustment to work-in-process inventory.

At a minimum, you have...



  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or other applicable field of study or at least 8+ years experience in materials and planning management for production and/or manufacturing environments required. Advanced degree preferred.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum 3+ years related professional experience in materials and planning management for production and/or manufacturing environments.

  • Proficiency with computer hardware and software. Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required. Experience with Google Sheets and Suite preferred. Some scripting experience strongly desired, but not required. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team. 

  • Leadership: Provide guidance and direction to cross-functional teams.      

  • Performance Management: responsible for employee experience throughout the employee life cycle (hiring, training, developing, promoting, etc.).

  • Time Management: tracking/monitoring supply planning, inventory, etc.

  • Strict Supervision: Hold employees accountable for meeting goals and objectives.
