Job Description

We are looking for an Internal Audit and Risk Manager (m/f) who provides objective evaluations of Rocket Internet’s internal control systems and processes to identify areas of non-compliance, potential risk and opportunity for efficiency enhancement. You execute the internal audit function from planning, to fieldwork and reporting following the IIA standards. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining Rocket Internet’s risk management system.

Among your tasks will be:

• The preparation of the annual audit plan including budget requirements for review and approval by Management Board and Supervisory Board.
• Regular reporting to Management Board and Supervisory Board on the audit progress against plan as well as significant risk and control issues noted.
• Conducting internal audits including audit planning and fieldwork based on the professional standards for internal auditing with the objective of determining if processes and controls are adequate and operate effectively and efficiently.
• Agreement on and coordination of the audit work of external experts performing internal audits in specific audit areas.
• Preparation of audit reports including precise description of audit findings, proposal of suitable recommendations and agreement on action plans with management. Hereby you collaborate with management in the mutual goal to reduce overall risk exposure for Rocket Internet.
• Monitoring the status of Internal Audit’s recommendations and corrective actions taken by management.
• Coordination of activities and active knowledge sharing with other control and monitoring functions such as compliance and the external auditor.
• Preparation of risk reports based on risk assessments conducted at least annually together with the risk owners and issuance of ad-hoc risk reporting in case of major changes in risk expectations noted by internal or external stakeholders.
• Supporting our network companies together with the Compliance department on questions regarding risk and compliance matters based on our GRC methodology.

Qualifications

• After having successfully completed your studies in Economics or a similar branch with focus on Accounting, Audit or Controlling, you gained 4-5 years of experience in internal or external auditing and possess the CIA certification.
• Ideally you also gained experience in the field of Compliance or IT audits.
• You have a proven track record of performing risk-focused operational and financial audits and assessing critical business risks.
• You are characterized by strong negotiating, relationship building as well as problem solving skills and you are able to quickly adapt to new circumstances, information and challenges.
• Outstanding analytical skills, strong verbal and written communication skill as well as fluent English and German complete your profile.
